Exploring Morocco: My Personal Journey
Dive with me in an authentic Moroccan experience
Life is a balance between highs and lows, sometimes like now I feel like I’m experiencing both at the same time, and it’s hard to explain, but surely you understand what I’m talking about, that moment when you’re at your lowest but can sense the climb toward something better. The good thing is I’m always grateful for every step of this journey.
Recently, I landed in Morocco, so excited and starving. Every time I step onto Moroccan ground, my hunger is waking up. Maybe it’s the air or the anticipation of the incredible food here. After an amazing flight, I arrived at a traditional Moroccan riad, it’s a guest house with its cozy ambiance and beautiful courtyard.
I felt like home in this place, the lighting wasn’t what I expected. I thought about buying a lantern to adapt to it, I’m always focusing on solutions not on problems, nothing can destroy my best moments. After taking a shower, I decided to go out to explore the streets and find something to eat. Walking through the souks, I was fascinated by the beauty of the stalls overflowing with colourful fabrics, spices, and handcrafted treasures.<=(add link to store). The energy of old medina is incredible and every corner tells a story.
A Chance Encounter
When I was walking through the small streets of the medina, unsure of where to eat, someone noticed my confusion. I didn’t expect him to help me find a great spot for lunch. His generosity reminded me of why I love Morocco so much: the warmth of its people.
We chatted as we strolled through the narrow streets, eventually reaching a cozy little restaurant. It was exactly what I needed—a peaceful moment to enjoy delicious Moroccan cuisine. Unfortunately, during my meal, I received some unexpected news that left me feeling emotional. Tears welled up, but before I could spiral, the same tour guide came back to check on me.

Unfortunately, during my meal, I received some unexpected news that left me feeling emotional. Tears flowed, but before I could solve the problem, the same tour guide came back to check on me.
He reassured me, saying, “Every setback is a setup for something better.” Those words stayed with me. After lunch, he offered to show me around the city, and we spent the afternoon exploring, snapping pictures, and soaking in the beauty of Marrakech.
Finding Joy in the Little Things
The next day started with a fresh perspective. I woke up determined to embrace the day, even though I’d had a restless night filled with strange dreams. A little sunlight and the friendly greetings from locals quickly lifted my mood. There’s something magical about the way people here wish you “Good morning” with genuine smiles—it sets the tone for the entire day.
I spent the morning exploring The Old City, my favorite part of Marrakech. The intricate architecture, bustling streets, and sense of history make it a place like no other. By the time I reached my breakfast spot, I felt renewed, ready to tackle whatever the day had in store.
A Reflection on Gratitude
Looking back, the past few days have been a mix of emotions, but I wouldn’t trade them for anything. Life in Morocco has a way of grounding me, reminding me of the blessings I have, even in moments of uncertainty.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that life’s challenges often lead to its greatest joys. And for me, those joys are found in the simple things: the kindness of a stranger, the taste of freshly baked bread, and the beauty of a sunrise over the medina.
